The Northern Territory Police Force have arrested a 55-year-old man in relation to a hit-and-run incident that occurred overnight in Moulden.
Around 9:00pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received reports of a man who had been struck by a vehicle on Tamarind Road. The vehicle allegedly involved in the collision failed to stop and render assistance at the scene.
Police and St John Ambulance attended and provided first aid to the victim, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
A 55-year-old man was subsequently arrested at an address in Rosebery.
He has since been charged and is due to appear in Darwin Local Court on 11 February 2025.
Senior Sergeant Xavier Mcmahon said, "I want to remind all road users that if you are involved in a crash, it is a legal requirement to stop, render assistance, and immediately contact police for direction.
"We urge all road users to take responsibility for their actions, drive safely, and ensure the well-being of everyone on our roads. Together, we can prevent tragedies and create safer roads for all Territorians."
