The Northern Territory Police Force are investigating after a disturbance occurred in Gray early this morning.
Around 12:10am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received reports of a male causing property damage at a unit complex on Victoria Drive, Gray. The 52-year-old male was staying with family at the residence who were forced to vacate the premises for their own safety as he refused to leave.
Police attended and upon arrival the male allegedly threatened officers with an edged weapon. Officers disengaged and moved to the ground floor.
Members then cordoned off the area while the Police Negotiator Unit, supported by the Territory Response Group, commenced negotiations.
St John Ambulance were in attendance on standby.
At around 8:40am, the male surrendered to police and was safely taken into custody.
No injuries were reported.
Investigations are ongoing and charges are yet to be laid.
