Three teenagers have been arrested following an aggravated robbery in the northern suburbs late last night.
About 11.20pm on Friday 11 October, police were called to Elizabeth Way at Elizabeth after reports of a robbery. Three suspects armed with knives approached a man and demanded his property.
The smashed a window to a sports centre and threatened a second victim and stole personal items from him.
They made their way to a nearby gym and threatened a third victim, stealing the keys to his car. The suspects then stole the victim's, green Suzuki Jimny from the car park.
About 20 minutes later the stolen car was spotted on Montacute Road at Cavan. A short pursuit took place until PolAir was above and tracked the vehicle. PolAir followed the car as it drove through the suburbs of Prospect and Kilburn.
The car was successfully spiked on Churchill Road and the car left the road and collided with a light pole at the intersection of Prospect Road before taking off on Alabama Avenue and colliding with a parked and unoccupied Toyota Corolla.
Three suspects were seen exiting the vehicle but were arrested shortly after without incident. Three 16-year-olds, from Elizabeth Vale, Elizabeth and Enfield were all charged with three counts of aggravated robbery, illegal use, aggravated serious criminal trespass, carrying an offensive weapon and detaining a person to commit an indictable offence. They were granted police bail to appear in Elizabeth Youth Court on 22 November.
The three victims were not physically injured as a result of the incident.
