Police Make Arrests - Aggravated Assault - Palmerston

Northern Territory Police have arrested two men in relation to an aggravated assault in Palmerston yesterday evening.

Around 5:10pm, police received reports of two adult males, allegedly armed with weapons, assaulting one on duty security officer and one off duty security officer and damaging property at a shopping centre on Temple Terrace, Palmerston before fleeing the scene on foot.

A 19-year-old female also suffered injuries after being hit with a projectile object.

Police attended and located both men after a short foot chase.

A taser was deployed when one of the men was identified to be armed with an edged weapon and presented a danger himself and to oncoming traffic.

Both men aged 32 and 33 were arrested and taken into custody.

All victims were assessed at Palmerston Regional Hospital for their injuries.

Charges are expected.

Police continue to urge anyone who witnesses a crime to call 131 444.
