Police Make Arrests - Burglary In Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have arrested eight youths in relation to a burglary and reckless driving incident that occurred in Alice Springs this morning.

At around 1.30am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received reports of an unknown number of offenders in a gold Hyundai driving recklessly around the Alice Springs CBD. The vehicle involved was allegedly stolen.

The Hyundai has allegedly collided with the rear of a security vehicle, before fleeing the area. The security vehicle sustained minor damaged, and the driver was uninjured.

At around 11.00am, police were notified of an alleged burglary at a residence on Dalby Court in East Side. Police responded and located the stolen Hyundai involved in the earlier reckless driving incident abandoned on Burke Street.

A co-ordinated response involving Strike Force Viper, the Dog Operations Unit and general duties officers resulted in the arrest of four male youths aged 13, 13, 13, and 14, and four female youths aged 13, 15, 16 and 17.
