Police Make Arrests Over Drug Trafficking At Gold Coast 2 August

Detectives from the Crime and Intelligence Command Organised Crime Gangs Group have charged eight people in relation to drug trafficking offences as part of an operation on the Gold Coast.

Multiple search warrants were executed at Gold Coast locations including Broadbeach, Burleigh Heads, Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach Waters yesterday and today as part of Operation Victor Mosquito.

During the searches, it will be alleged police located quantities of dangerous drugs, including cocaine, drug paraphernalia, mobile phones, large amounts of cash and a BMW X5.

A 35-year-old Broadbeach man was charged with one count of trafficking dangerous drugs (cocaine), 13 counts of supply dangerous drugs (cocaine), one count each of possess proceeds and major possess (cocaine). The man appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court today.

A 30-year-old Broadbeach woman was charged with one count of trafficking dangerous drugs (cocaine), two counts of supply dangerous drugs (cocaine), one count each of possess proceeds and major possess (cocaine). The woman appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court today.

A 60-year-old Burleigh Heads man was charged with one count of trafficking in dangerous drugs (cocaine), seven counts of supply dangerous drugs (cocaine), one count each of possess dangerous drug (cocaine), possess dangerous drug (phentermine), two counts of possess anything used in the commission of crime defined by Part 2 and one count of adult possess property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under Drugs Misuse Act. The man appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court today.

A 33-year-old Broadbeach man was charged with four counts of supply dangerous drugs (cocaine), two counts of possess tainted property. The man appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court today.

A 40-year-old Broadbeach man was charged with six counts of supply dangerous drugs (cocaine), one count of possessing dangerous drugs (cocaine) and one count of possessing anything used in a crime. The man was issued with a notice to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on August 21.

A 45-year-old Broadbeach woman was charged with six counts of supply dangerous drugs (cocaine) and one count of possessing dangerous drugs (cocaine). The woman was issued with a notice to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on August 21.

A 50-year-old Broadbeach man was charged with six counts of supply dangerous drugs (cocaine) and one count of possessing dangerous drugs (cocaine). The man was issued with a notice to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on August 21.

Detective Inspector Craig Bowman from the Organised Crime Gangs Group said the trafficking of illicit drugs, goes toward funding organised crime, and increases risk to our community.

"No matter your standing in our community, if you are involved in the distribution of illicit substances, you will be targeted, and you will be held accountable".
