A police officer has been charged with assault following an incident last year.
An assault is alleged to have occurred at a hospital while the officer was on duty on Thursday 9 November 2023.
Following an investigation, a Court Attendance Notice for a charge of common assault was served on the 39-year-old male senior constable yesterday (Tuesday 30 July 2024).
He is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday 10 September 2024.
The officer's employment status is currently under review.
