Police Officer Charged, South Eastern Region 1 October

A 38-year-old male Constable from the South Eastern Region has been charged in relation to an alleged assault occasioning bodily harm.

The alleged incident occurred at Clear Island Waters on July 26, 2024 whilst the officer was off duty. The matter was reported to the Queensland Police Service.

A 31-year-old Gold Coast man sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the incident. The two are not known to each other.

The member has been stood down with pay from the QPS and is expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on October 9, 2024.
