Police Officer Charged - Specialist Command

A former police officer has been charged following an investigation into an alleged assault in Forster last year.

About 11.15pm on Saturday 2 December 2023, officers were called reports of an altercation involving a number of people at a hotel on Little Street.

Officers attached to Manning/Great Lakes Police District arrived and were told an off-duty police officer – a 52-year-old Senior Constable who was attached to a specialist command at the time – was allegedly involved in the altercation, when he assaulted a security guard.

The man was arrested and taken to Forster Police Station and later released pending further inquiries.

Today (Friday 26 July 2024) the man was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for common assault and excluded person fail to leave premises.

He will appear at Forster Local Court on Wednesday 28 August 2024.

The man is no longer employed by the NSW Police Force.
