Police officer hit by car at Fulham Gardens, South Australia

Police are currently at the scene of a crash at Fulham Gardens.

Just after 4pm, Monday 3 January, police and paramedics were called to Merlin Road, after a 4WD struck a police officer. The officer sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and has been taken to hospital.

The driver fled the scene and dumped the 4WD a short time later near Grange Road before running off. He was confronted by police and ran off into the path of oncoming traffic and was struck by a car. He has sustained non-life threatening injuries and has been taken under police guard to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

Investigations are ongoing at the scene and motorists are advised that Grange Road is currently closed between Frederick Road and Tapleys Hill Road with diversions in place.
