The Rotary Club of Unley’s South Australian Police Officer of the Year Award commenced in 1978. The Award recognizes an outstanding and committed police officer who, in serving the community, displays high standards of professionalism, or performs significant acts of courtesy, kindness, understanding or courage, or handles a complex and difficult situation with humanity.
As a community based award, nominations are accepted from members of the public only, not police officers.
The Award is a service sponsored by the Rotary Club of Unley, to enhance public awareness of the human face of policing.
