Police Officer Struck By Vehicle In Point Cook

Police are investigating following a collision in Point Cook this afternoon that left a police officer requiring hospital treatment.

Police located two people asleep in a stolen Mazda CX9 on Sneydes Road just before 1pm.

Officers attempted to wake the male driver who resisted police before accelerating into a police vehicle parked in front of his car.

He then reversed, the driver side door of the offending vehicle has struck a First Constable knocking him to the ground, the car running over him before speeding away.

During this time a female passenger ran from the scene.

The injured police officer was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle was located in Catalina Court as police continue to patrol the area.

No arrests have been made at this stage and the investigation remains ongoing.

Investigators have released an image of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.

They would like to speak to Coby Grigson in relation to the incident.

The 21-year-old is described as 170cm tall with a thin build, brown hair and brown eyes.
