Two police officers received minor injuries during an arrest last night in Moonta, according to SA Police.
At 9.30pm on Thursday 22 December, police attended a house in Robert Street after reports of a disturbance.
Police attempted to arrest the man during which they will allege he assaulted the officers.
The man was eventually controlled by police and arrested. A search of the man uncovered he was in possession of a knife.
Both officers were treated at the Wallaroo Hospital for head and facial injuries and later discharged.
The 38-year-old man from Moonta has been charged with 5 counts of aggravated assault and 1 count of carrying an offensive weapon.
He was refused bail and will appear in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court later today.
