Police operation - Central Railway Station

The police operation at Central Railway Station has concluded.

Officers attached to the Police Transport Command (PTC) were called to Platform 5 at Central Railway Station, about 11.30am (Thursday 6 February 2020) after a man told NSW TrainLink staff he had arrived recently in Australia from China.

The man was not displaying any symptoms, nor was he feeling unwell.

Police conducted inquiries with relevant agencies about the man's recent travel and sought assistance from NSW Ambulance paramedics and advice from NSW Health.

He was checked over before being taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

The area was re-opened to commuters with no impact to commuter health or safety.

NSW Health advises there is no reason to believe that there is any risk to the public from this incident.
