Police Probe Attempted Robbery in Alice Springs

The Northern Territory Police Force is calling for information in relation to an attempted robbery that occurred in Alice Springs early this morning.

Around 2.50am, police received a report that a male youth allegedly armed with an edged weapon threatened a taxi driver on Karnte Road.

The taxi was driving along Karnte Road when two male youths walked onto the road in front of the vehicle, forcing him to stop. One of the males approached the front passenger window of the taxi and allegedly produced an edged weapon, demanding money.

The victim immediately drove away from the area and attended the Alice Springs Police Station to report the incident.
