An investigation is underway after a police monument was damaged in Sydney's Domain.
About 3.15am on Saturday 25 January 2025, the NSW Police Wall of Remembrance, dedicated to the memory of police officers killed in the line of duty, was significantly damaged by vandalism.
About 12.00pm yesterday (Sunday 26 January 2025), officers deployed as part of Australia Day celebrations, saw the damage and commenced an investigation.
A crime scene has been established, which will be forensically examined by specialist police.
Police are working with Sydney City Council to assist with remedial works to repair the damage.
