A man has died in a crash involving a car and a truck on the New England Highway, 50km south of Tamworth, NSW Police say.
About 10.30am today, emergency services were called to a location about 10km north of Wallabadah, after a car and a truck had collided.
The male driver of the car died at the scene.
Officers attached to Oxley Local Area Command are at the scene and have commenced an investigation into the incident.
The truck driver has been taken to Tamworth Hospital to undergo mandatory blood and urine tests.
The New England Highway remains closed in both directions and traffic will be disrupted for some time.
Motorists are being diverted via Wallabadah Road, towards Quirindi and Burgmanns Lane, south of Tamworth.
