Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to an indecent act that occurred in Alice Springs last week.
At around 7.45pm on Thursday 12 December, a 20-year-old woman was walking south of the Stott Terrace roundabout along Leichhardt Terrace towards Barrett Drive when a man unknown to her overtook her with a bicycle. The man has allegedly stopped in front of her and indecently exposed himself to her, before attempting to grab her arm.
The victim has avoided the offender and continued walking away from him before being picked up by people known to her shortly afterwards. The offender subsequently left the area.
The victim reported the incident to police the next day, and an active investigation immediately commenced. Police have collected CCTV footage from the area and have observed the offender near the Stott Terrace roundabout shortly before the alleged offending.
The man is described as being of dark complexion, 6ft tall, wearing a red or bright coloured jersey, light coloured pants, and white shoes. He was riding/walking with a light-yellow coloured bicycle.
Detectives and investigators are now calling for the public's assistance.
