Police probe pizza shop robbery in Northmead

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the robbery of a pizza shop in Northmead last night, NSW Police say.

About 11pm today, a man armed with a hammer entered the Briens Road store.

He jumped the counter and threatened the two employees while demanding cash.

The armed man stole an amount of cash from the store before running from the premises.

He was seen getting into a silver coloured vehicle with NSW registration DDG-91A, a confirmed stolen vehicle, which was waiting outside being driven by a second man.

Police were called and a crime scene was established.

Detectives from Parramatta attended the scene and will continue inquiries.
