Police Release CCTV After Hit And Run - Fairy Meadow

Police have released CCTV footage as investigations continue into an alleged hit and run crash involving a pedestrian in the Illawarra, last week.

About 8.55pm on (Wednesday 16 October 2024), emergency services were called to the intersection of Daisy Street and Princes Highway, Fairy Meadow, following reports of a pedestrian struck by a car.

Officers attached to Wollongong Police District attended, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics, who treated a 57-year-old man for chest and facial injuries.

He was taken to Wollongong Hospital before he was taken to St George Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident commenced.

As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV footage of a vehicle they are seeking to identify to assist with their inquiries.

Police would like to speak to the occupants of a car described as a white 4WD utility, single cab with a metal tray back and canvas canopy.

Anyone with CCTV, dashcam footage or information who hasn't spoken to police, is urged to come forward and contact Wollongong Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
