Police Release Images in Liverpool Hit-and-Run Probe

A woman remains in hospital after being seriously injured following an alleged hit and run crash at Liverpool last Friday.

About 2.10pm (Friday 5 July 2024), emergency services were called to Elizabeth Street, Liverpool, near Bigge Street, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

On arrival, officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command were told a 32-year-old woman was hit by a grey Subaru hatchback.

The driver and a passenger left the scene on foot before police arrived.

The woman was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Liverpool hospital in a critical condition.

The vehicle was seized and subject to a forensic examination.

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist officers attached to the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit, who have taken carriage of the investigation.

As inquiries continue, investigators have released images of two men who might be able to assist police with inquiries.

The first male is described as Pacific Islander in appearance, about 20-30 years old, medium build, dark complexion, with short black hair at the front, longer at the back. He was wearing a North Queensland Cowboys football jersey and footy shorts.

The second male is described as Pacific Islander in appearance, about 20–23-years old, solid build, dark complexion, with short curly black hair. He was wearing a black long-sleeve hoodie and green shorts.
