Police Renew Appeal for Missing Lightning Ridge Woman

Officers from Central North Police District are re-appealing for public assistance to locate an elderly woman missing from the state's west.

Angela Kranz, aged 78, was last seen between 8.30am and 9.00am on Saturday 15 March 2025 in the vicinity of Wooloroo Road and Tip Road, Lightning Ridge.

When she failed to return home and could not be located or contacted, officers attached to Central North Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

Family and police hold serious concerns for her welfare as she lives with dementia.

Angela is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 150cm tall, with a medium build, with tied up grey hair. She has a distinctive walk and has the ability to walk quickly.

Angela is believed to still be in the Lightning Ridge area or nearby opal mine fields.

Police are appealing to anyone who might have driven through the Lightning Ridge area last Saturday and has dash-cam footage, or may have offered or given Angela a lift, to contact police.
