Police Respond to Fatal Crash in MacDonnell Region

Northern Territory Police can confirm a motorcyclist has died after crashing his motorcycle last month at an outstation approximately 100km southeast of Alice Springs.

Around 8.15am on Sunday 25 August, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre was notified of a single rider motorcycle crash involving a 50-year-old man. The rider had not been wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Emergency services responded and the man was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital with serious head injuries. The man passed away in hospital on the evening of Sunday 1 September surrounded by family.

A file will be prepared for the NT Coroner.

As the incident occurred on private property with public access, the Lives Lost on Territory Roads now stands at 47.
