Police responding to fatal motorcycle crash at Kingston

A 17-year-old boy has died in hospital from injuries sustained in a trail bike crash at Kingston yesterday afternoon (July 19).

Around 5.10pm the boy was riding a trail bike with a 16-year-old girl pillion passenger along Eridani Avenue when they have left the roadway and collided with a wooden power pole at the intersection with Sirius Street.

The male rider sustained serious head injuries and was transport to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition where he later passed away.

The female passenger sustained serious leg injuries and was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.

Both the rider and his passenger were from Chinchilla.

Logan District Forensic Crash Unit have begun investigations into the incident and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to contact them.
