Police responding to fatal motorcycle crash at Maroubra

A man has died overnight following a crash involving a motorcycle in Sydney's east.

About 8.20pm yesterday (Sunday 12 February 2023), emergency services responded to reports that a motorcycle had crashed into a parked car on Moverly Road, Maroubra.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the pillion passenger of the motorcycle - a 33-year-old man - at the scene before he was airlifted to St Vincent's Hospital in a critical condition.

The rider of the motorcycle died at the scene before the arrival of emergency services. He is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be a 30-year-old man.

Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command secured a crime scene which was examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.

As investigations continue anyone who may have witnessed – or has any available dashcam/mobile phone footage – of the crash is urged to contact Maroubra Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
