A woman has died and a child has been seriously injured, following a single-vehicle crash in Flynn.
Investigators have been told a car was driving along Rosedale Flynns Creek Road, about 7.50pm when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The car left the road and crashed into trees.
Sadly, the female passenger died at the scene.
The child was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
The male driver of the car has been taken to hospital under police guard with suspected non-life-threatening injuries.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The area has been cordoned off and it is expected the scene will be assessed this evening and processed into the morning.
