The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal two vehicle crash at Peeramon, southeast of Atherton, this morning, April 21.
At approximately 5.30am, emergency services were called to the intersection of Lake Barrine Road and Anderson Road.
Initial investigations indicate a Toyota Hilux and Nissan Patrol where travelling the same direction along Lake Barrine Road before they crashed.
The driver of the Toyota Hilux, a 42-year-old Malanda man, has been transported to the Atherton Hospital with neck and arm injuries.
The passenger of the Toyota Hilux, a 43-year-old Malanda woman, was declared deceased at the scene.
The driver and sole occupant of the Nissan Patrol, a 64-year-old Peeramon man, was physically uninjured.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash, and appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage of the incident, or the moments leading up to it, to come forward.
