Police Responding To Fatal Traffic Crash At Mackay 27 October

A 27-year-old man has died following a motorcycle crash in Mackay this morning, October 27.

Police were called to Sugarshed Road near Glenella Connection Road in Glenella shortly before 2am to reports a motorcycle had struck a cow.

The rider, a 27-year-old Sarina man, was transported to Mackay Base Hospital in a critical condition, but died a short time later.

Initial investigations indicate the motorcycle was overtaking a vehicle when it struck the cow in the oncoming lane.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
