Police Responding To Fatal Traffic Crash At Strathpine

A woman has died following a fatal traffic crash in Strathpine this afternoon.

Initial investigations indicate around 2pm, a station wagon left a carpark and crashed into a nearby tree on Gympie Road.

The driver, an 87-year-old Strathpine man, was not physically injured during the crash.

The passenger, the 8o-year-old Strathpine woman, sustained leg injuries and was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

She experienced a medical episode and was pronounced deceased at the hospital later that day.

Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
