Police Responding To Fatal Traffic Crash At Stanmore

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash at Stanmore on Sunday, January 9.

Initial investigations indicate that around 1.15pm, emergency services were called to Bellthorpe Range Road, following reports a vehicle had struck a tree.

Upon arrival, police located a Toyota Hilux utility with a single occupant in the driver seat, receiving treatment by other emergency services.

The driver of the Toyota, a 66-year-old Bellthorpe man, was airlifted from the scene to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with life threatening injuries.

On Wednesday, February 12, the man passed away in hospital.

Investigations remain ongoing and the Forensic Crash Unit are appealing to anyone who has relevant dashcam footage of the vehicle or anyone who witnessed the vehicle prior to the crash, to come forward.
