A 20-year-old Hope Vale woman has died following a two vehicle crash in Manoora just after midnight (Saturday July 3).
Preliminary investigations indicate a sedan and 4WD collided at the intersection of Enmore Street and Reservoir Road, Manoora with the sedan careering into a powerpole and the 4WD coming to rest against a traffic light.
The woman, a passenger in the sedan, died at the scene and the driver and three other passengers from this vehicle were taken to Cairns Hospital.
The occupant of the 4WD, a 36 year-old Cairns woman was entrapped in her vehicle. She suffered serious injuries and was taken to Cairns Hospital.
Police are appealing for motorists to come forward with dash cam footage.
The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating.
