Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Palmview

Police are investigating a crash that took the life of a man in Palmview yesterday (August 30).

Early information indicates the man was travelling north on the Bruce Highway when his vehicle collided with the guard rail. He exited his vehicle and was waiting for assistance in the emergency stopping lane.

At about 8pm another vehicle, also heading northbound, collided with the man.

The man was pronounced deceased at the scene and the driver of the second vehicle was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information relating to this incident or relevant dash cam footage from that area is urged to contact police.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
