Two men have died following a traffic crash at Woombye on the Sunshine Coast this afternoon (Thursday April 21).
Initial investigations indicate at approximately 3.30pm, a 25-year-old Currimundi man and 22-year-old Baringa man were assisting with repairs for a bus which was broken down on the side of Nambour Connection Road, when a vehicle travelling west has struck them.
Both men suffered critical injuries and were transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, where they later died.
A 43-year-old Warana woman, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, was not physically injured and is assisting police with their enquiries.
No one was on board the bus at the time.
The Forensic Crash Unit and Workplace Health and Safety are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
