A 59-year-old Kuranda woman has died following a three-vehicle traffic crash at Bilyana today (August 3).
Preliminary investigations indicate at approximately 1pm a sugar cane truck was stationary on the Bruce Highway, waiting to turn right into a farm access road.
A Mazda sedan was travelling south on the Bruce Highway and stopped behind the sugar cane truck.
Another truck travelling south has struck the sedan.
The woman was the sole occupant of the sedan and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The drivers of the trucks were not physically injured.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
