Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Anakie Siding

Police are investigating following a fatal traffic crash at an Anakie Siding intersection yesterday afternoon, August 4.

The collision occurred at about 12:30pm, between a car travelling on Anakie Sapphire Road and a 4WD with a caravan travelling along the Capricorn Highway from Emerald toward Alpha.

Emergency crews were unable to revive a 64-year-old Andergrove woman, the only passenger of the car, who passed away at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 68-year-old Andergrove man, was transported to the Emerald Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the 4WD, a 37-year-old Moura man, and two female passengers aged 14 and 12-years-old were transported to the Emerald Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
