Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Ipswich 2 July

A 36-year old male has died after a two-vehicle crash at Ipswich this afternoon.

Preliminary investigations indicate, around 12.50pm a silver Mercedes wagon was heading along Moffatt Street when it collided with a silver Volkswagen hatch travelling on Warwick Road.

The driver of the Mercedes was transported to Ipswich Hospital, but was declared deceased shortly afterwards.

The occupants of the Volkswagen suffered minor injuries.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dashcam footage of the Mercedes possibly travelling with another vehicle in the Ipswich area prior to the crash, to come forward.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
