An 86-year-old Yungaburra man has sadly passed away after being involved in a serious traffic crash in Lake Eacham in Tablelands last night.
Preliminary investigations indicate around 6:30pm a white sedan was travelling along Gordonvale Atherton Road in a westerly direction towards Yungaburra.
The sedan has then crossed onto the other side of the road hitting an oncoming truck.
As a result, the 86-year-old man driving the car was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A 35-year-old man from Goldsborough who was driving the truck was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigations are continuing.
