Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Tinana 19 August

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a two vehicle traffic crash which resulted in a woman's death yesterday afternoon.

At about 3pm, a car and a light truck travelling in opposite directions, collided on the Bruce Highway at Tinana South.

A 72-year-old Maryborough woman, who was the driver and sole occupant of the car was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the truck, a 51-year-old Rochedale man, was transported to Maryborough Hospital as a precaution with no serious injuries.

The highway was closed for several hours and reopened at 6.30pm

Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
