Police Responding To Fatal Vehicle Crash At Smithfield

A man has died following a crash in western Sydney.

About 6am on Thursday (18 September 2024), emergency services were called to Woodpark Road, Smithfield, following reports a Toyota Yaris had collided with a parked heavy vehicle trailer.

Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command attended a short time later, but all parties had left the scene.

Following enquiries, the driver of the Yaris, a 96-year-old man, was located at Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

About 2am today (Saturday 21 September 2024), police were informed the man had died.
