The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious two vehicle traffic crash that occurred in Bororen yesterday, December 20.
Initial information indicates shortly before 11am, a Mazda utility and a Toyota utility collided on the Bruce Highway.
The driver of the Mazda, a 45-year-old Western Australia man, sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to hospital.
The driver of the Toyota, a 31-year-old Emerald man, sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to hospital.
The passenger of the Mazda, a 10-year-old boy, sustained non-life-threatening injuries but was transported to hospital as a precaution.
The passengers of the Toyota, a 31-year-old Emerald woman, a 7-year-old boy, a 4-year-old boy and a 6-month-old baby girl, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to hospital as a precaution.
The Bruce Highway remains closed in both directions while the Forensic Crash Unit investigation continues.
