The Sunshine Coast Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious traffic crash in Federal, near Gympie, this morning, July 23.
Police were called to the northbound lanes of the Old Bruce Highway, approximately 400m from Sankeys Road, around 6am to reports of a two-vehicle crash.
Initial investigations indicate a Toyota Hilux, traveling south on the Old Bruce Highway, collide head on with a Skoda Karoq, travelling north.
Police are investigating reports of a kangaroo on the roadway.
The driver and only occupant of the Toyota Hilux, a 23-year-old Cooran man, was transported to the Sunshine Coast University hospital.
The driver of the Skoda Karoq, a 21-year-old Virginia man, was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital via helicopter.
The only passenger of the Skoda Karoq, a 20-year-old Clayfield man, was transported to the Sunshine Coast University hospital.
All are reported to be in a stable condition.
The road was blocked in both directions but was reopened around 10am.
Investigators are appealing to anyone with information or dashcam footage of the incident to contact police.
