The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious crash involving a motorcyclist in Waterford West today.
Initial inquiries suggest just after 3pm the male rider was travelling west on Kingston Road, when he attempted to overtake a car which was indicating to turn right onto Allora Street.
It's believed the motorcyclist hit the righthand side of the vehicle, the impact enough to ricochet him into the path of oncoming traffic, where he collided with a tip truck.
The 28-year-old local man was treated at the scene for a lengthy time before being taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with life-threatening-injuries.
No one else involved was injured.
Anyone with vision or further information about the incident is urged to contact police.
