Police responding to serious traffic crash at Margate

Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcycle crash at Margate left a man and child with critical injuries this evening.

Initial investigations suggest a 32-year-old man was travelling on a blue Honda motorbike along Macdonnell Road with a 4-year-old male passenger when they collided with a four-wheel-drive at the intersection of Dover Road around 7.15pm.

The man and boy suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision and were transported to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and the Queensland Children's Hospital, both in a critical condition.

The female driver of the four-wheel drive was not physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or have footage of the blue Honda travelling in the vicinity prior to the incident to come forward.
