Victoria Police is currently reviewing the investigation into the death of Alana Cecil nearly three decades ago.
Alana was located deceased outside a Melton address on 10 November, 1996.
A report was prepared for the Coroner who determined the 16-year-old's cause of death was heroin toxicity with acute asthma.
Local detectives will review the original investigation and the coronial inquest finding, to determine whether there are any new avenues of enquiry.
Investigators would like to speak to anyone with information in relation to Alana's death, particularly a person who previously submitted information anonymously.
