Homicide Squad detectives are appealing for public assistance to locate Ali Rajab following the death of a man in Thomastown last week.
Investigators would like to speak to Rajab after the fatal stabbing of a 36-year-old Doreen man at a Victoria Drive address on Thursday, 11 July.
Police were called to the residential property around 8.40pm following reports a man had been stabbed.
Medical assistance was provided to the man however he died at the scene.
Detectives from the Homicide Squad and a number of other police units have conducted a significant search over the past few days in an attempt to locate Rajab.
Investigators have released two images of Rajab in the hope someone can provide information regarding his current whereabouts.
He is known to frequent the Wollert and Lalor areas.
Detectives are calling on Rajab to come forward and make contact with police.
Anyone who sights him is asked not to approach him and to contact triple zero (000) immediately.
A 45-year-old Glenroy man was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated burglary - person present, theft and common law assault.
He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 18 November.
Police believe the incident was targeted and that parties involved were known to each other.
