Police Seek Domestic Violence Tips in Katherine

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man in relation to a domestic violence disturbance that occurred in Katherine yesterday evening.

Around 5:30pm, police received reports of a man allegedly assaulting a woman multiple times with an edged weapon at a shopping centre on Katherine Terrace.

Police attended and arrested a 49-year-old male.

The 49-year-old female victim was conveyed to Katherine Hospital in a critical condition and later transferred to Royal Darwin Hospital via Care Flight.

The man and woman are known to each other.

Investigations are ongoing and police are currently conducting interviews with witnesses.
