A search is currently underway after a kayak was located abandoned on the banks of Lake Munmorah on the state's Central Coast.
About 2.40pm today (Friday 3 January 2025), officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District attended the boat ramp off Macleay Drive, Halekulani, at Lake Munmorah, after a deflated kayak was located by a member of the public.
Officers - with the assistance of Marine Area Command and Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter - have commenced a search of the area for any person that maybe in distress.
The inflatable kayak is described as being 2.8m long, blue in colour with the brand being Bluefin Bow Rider, attached to the kayak is a yellow strap with an orange rubber name tag bearing the name JENNIFER in light green with yellow, above the name are two blue butterflies.
Anyone who maybe able to identify the kayak or has any other information is urged to call Wyong Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
