Police Seek Help in Normanton GBH Case

Police are appealing for public assistance as part of an investigation into a serious assault in Normanton yesterday evening, January,2.

At 9.30pm, a 30-year-old woman was allegedly attacked by a man on Matilda Street.

The woman has been treated for cuts to her face and a broken arm.

A 24-year-old man has been charged with a contravention of a police order, grievous bodily harm (domestic violence offence) and possessing utensils or pipes.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear in Normanton Magistrates Court on January 20.

Anyone with CCTV in that area or witnesses who may have been near Matilda Street at the time of the alleged assault are urged to come forward with information, or report what they saw anonymously via Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
