Police seek help to find missing boy at Kuranda

Police are seeking public assistance to locate a missing 13-year-old boy, who was last seen in the vicinity of Condoo and Thongon streets heading into nearby bushland on foot yesterday afternoon around 3.30pm (Monday March 28).

The boy is described as Aboriginal in appearance, is approximately 165cm tall with shoulder length curly black hair and brown eyes, with a medium build.

He was last seen wearing a short sleeved black 'Dragon Ball Z' branded t-shirt and black Everlast brand shorts. He was wearing red converse shoes and was carrying a black converse bumbag.

Due to the size of the bushland, SES volunteers have been tasked, searching on foot, via ATV and with drones. Rescue 510 searched for the boy for several hours this morning without result. The search will continue into the night with police resources.

Police and family are concerned for his welfare due to his age and because he suffers from a medical condition. Police are urging the boy or anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact police immediately.
