Police seek help to find missing man at Kuranda 5 July

Police are asking for public assistance to help locate 56-year-old Graham 'Jak' Jackson (pictured) missing from Kuranda since Monday night.

He was last seen leaving a Kuranda Heights Road address around 11pm on foot and may be headed into nearby bushland.

Police and family have concerns for his welfare as he has a medical condition which requires medication which he may not have access to.

Jak is an experienced bushman and may have left to live off the land for a period of time.

He is described as having an olive complexion, is approximately 175cm tall with a slim build and greying short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black hooded jumper.

Residents in and around Kuranda are asked to check under their houses, in sheds and carports for signs of Jak. Police are urging Jak, or anyone who know his current whereabouts to come forward.

A search and rescue operation launched today will resume in the early morning in search of Jak.
